EDUCATION

Education is important to the success of the individual as well as to the collective community. The components that combine or link together to provide this success are: the teachers that help students to learn and evolve into the people they ultimately become, the hierarchy support staff that assist the teachers and students with their studies, the State Government that provide the funding for the capital works and the facilities that house the school environment to enhance that learning experience.

Mt Lawley Senior High School was selected as one of a handful of schools to have a new dedicated Year 7 building built on the existing campus to accommodate this new year group into high school at the start of the 2015 academic year.

The facility houses 8 classrooms, 2 specialist science labs, IT music lab, 2 acoustic music practice rooms, staff room, teachers preparation area and associated amenities and storage facilities over 2 storeys.

The unique Chinese and Aboriginal artwork integrated as part of the external fabric of the building.

Conceived and designed by Anne Neil and Noeleen Hamlett. Click Here for link to article.

Together with the client group, Carabiner assisted with the evolution of the originally briefed Mt Lawley Year 7 Building to become the middle school specialist building inclusive of music functions.

Construction was completed ready for the start of the 2015 academic year
