Engaged by the City of Gosnells, we delivered a feasibility and concept design for a diverse site that incorporated a new leisure and aquatics facility, known as SPLASH, into the existing Sutherlands Park precinct. The main structure flows seamlessly into an external skate park and all-ability play space.

Our concept sees indoor sports courts, a youth centre, creche, health and wellness club, function rooms and aquatics centre coalesce into one lively activity hub. Outdoors the aquatics centre will comprise a 10-lane 50m pool, flexibly designed to host competitive carnivals or be reconfigured for active play, featuring a convertible roll-away ‘Ninja’ course. Practically, we increased parking, group bus access and services drop-off points.

At a time when Australians are becoming increasingly sedentary, this dual-level facility is holistic in encouraging activity. From competitive sport to joyful play, our vibrant and practical design will ensure SPLASH is fit-for-purpose.
