Sport and Recreation

Like many Australians we love sport, so it’s great fun being involved in the design of sport and leisure facilities. Our experience ranges from high performance training facilities for a range of sporting codes, through to school and community activity centres. It’s gratifying to know that each project we do helps more Australians to get active – for their benefit and for the benefit of the whole community.

We specialise in designing sport and recreation buildings that offer operational efficiency, flexible adaptable use, and consideration of financial sustainability through co-location and revenue generating assets. Our process is a collaborative and relational design process that generates a shared vision, assisting to balance aspirations with practical constraints.

Community Sport

Community sport facilities are evolving beyond the geographically remote leisure centre or perfunctory sports pavilion towards becoming genuinely integrated community hubs. These hubs may include aquatic elements such as pools and splash pads, multi-sport courts, or public open space, and are supported by inclusive amenities such as contemporary change room facilities.

Community based sport and recreation hubs provide a pathway for all ages to maintain physical fitness by staying active. The benefits these contemporary facilities provide go far beyond the gym, by strengthening and uniting communities through health and wellbeing, encouraging participation and play, and propelling commercial growth in the area.

High Performance Sport

We have worked on a broad range of elite sports facilities from the Western Australian Institute of Sport High Performance Service Centre to dedicated facilities for sporting codes and teams such as the State Netball Centre and the Fremantle Dockers training and administration centre. These buildings often include specialised functions such as training and recovery, strengthening and conditioning, or sport science.
